Typical hazards & measures

• Collisions without proper protective equipment — Ensure all players wear appropriate protective gear such as helmets, mouthguards, shin guards, and gloves. Conduct regular inspections of protective equipment for wear and tear. Educate players on the importance of wearing protective gear at all times during play.
• Contact with sticks — Provide training on proper stick handling techniques. Use protective gear such as gloves and shin guards. Enforce rules on safe stick usage during games and practices. Regularly inspect sticks for damage and replace if necessary.
• Inadequate safety briefing — Conduct thorough safety briefings before each game and practice session, covering potential hazards, safety rules, and emergency procedures. Encourage questions to ensure understanding. Reinforce key safety points throughout the session. Provide written materials or signage as reminders.
